St. Mary’s Church Dehiwala celebrates 176 years

Parishioners of St. Mary’s Church Dehiwala will celebrate the 176th anniversary of their church building on Sunday, 12 February. The week long celebrations commenced with the hoisting of flag on 5 February.

The evening novenas, holy rosary, holy mass and blessing with the statue of our Lady of Purification are being conducted by the Blessed Sacrament Priests. Service of Vespers followed by procession will be held today with Rev. Fr. Ernest Poruthota, former Parish Priest as the chief celebrant. Festive High Mass (Trilingual) will be conducted by Very Rev Fr Bonnie Fernandopulle, Episcopal Vicar for the Western Region of the Archdiocese of Colombo on Sunday, 12 February
