Storytelling from the apparel industry

Storytelling has been the most ancient but the most effective method of sharing knowledge, experience and wisdom over many centuries. As part of a series of storytelling organised by 3W Advisory, an arm of the Third Wave Group, presents one of the success stories from the apparel industry. 

Viran Perera, a well-known name in the world of apparelists, will share his life and career lessons learnt over decades of battling it out in an industry where stress is commonplace and one decision can affect hundreds of workers. Viran was the Country Manager/Associate Vice President of Victoria Secret’s sourcing arm, MISA and was responsible for doubling its growth to $ 800 million under his leadership. The event will take place at Waters Edge on 18 May in an informal setting where participants can listen, contribute and get inspired followed by a session of ‘Couch Discussions’ where they can get up close and personal with Viran to get more specific advice.  Viran strongly believes in leadership that revolves around values, relationships and inner happiness which will be explored in relation to work and personal life. Being an ardent golfer, he will also share some interesting lessons from golf which can be very much applicable in the corporate world.
