Student centred education to be introduced in universities

The Ministry of Higher Education announced that a student centred education system would be introduced in the country’s universities from this year.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education Dr. Sunil Jayantha Navaratne said the present lecture method would be changed with the introduction of the student centred education.
Dr. Navaratne said that the student centred education system would be introduced first in Art, Social Sciences and Management faculties of the universities.
Subject oriented text books are also to be introduced for the university students under the new system.
The Secretary further stated that the aim of the student centred education is building a creative generation of students.
