Summoning of election candidates to FCID withheld

Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that they have withheld the summoning of election candidates to the FCID until the election concludes.

The police media spokesman stated that the decision was taken after they were informed about the matter by the Election Commissioner.

A discussion was held yesterday between the Election Commissioner and political party representatives during which the SLFP’s representative brought the matter to the Election Commissioner’s attention.

He explained that the summoning of election candidates to the FCID may affect the relevant candidate’s election campaign.
