SYU celebrates Che Commemorative Day

The Socialist Youth Union will celebrate Che Commemorative Day today together with the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) in Jaffna.

The celebrating program will be followed by a book donation to the Jaffna Public Library. The JVP media office said that there would be a special seminar to give tribute to Argentine Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara and it would end with a Jaffna cultural show.

Meanwhile SYU organised a memorial ceremony on Monday in Horana, Yahalakele at the Mahogany tree which Che planted at Yahalakele on his visit to Sri Lanka on 8 August 1959. (CG)
