Tamil political prisoners suspend fast following assurance

Tamil political prisoners have decided to suspend a fast following assurances received from the Attorney General’s Department.

The fast by 14 prisoners was suspended today after the Attorney General said that charge sheets would be filed against those arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act but not charged for any crime.
