Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that it was the responsibility of the people to think of their future instead of thinking about the future of candidates contesting the upcoming election.

Addressing a UNP rally in Maharagama, he requested the people to elect a Prime Minister working for the welfare of the country instead of a Prime Minister working for the welfare of his own family.

Speaking at a rally in Kuliyapitiya, the PM promised to take measures to attract more foreign investments to Sri Lanka during the next 60 months and create a program to create one million job opportunities.

He explained that steps would be taken to establish five main economic zones island-wide to aid the creation of more employment opportunities. He said that one of the proposed economic zones would be established in the Kuliyapitiya Divulapitiya area. A Volkswagen assembling zone would also be established in this area.
