Three-man commission to investigate Matale’s mass graves

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed a three member commission of inquiry into Matale’s mass graves, Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunge said yesterday. Addressing newspaper editors who met with the President last morning, Weeratunge said the commission would be chaired by Retired Supreme Court Justice S.I. Imam and would include Retired High Court Judge Bandula Atapattu and former Secretary General of Parliament, Dhammika Kitulgoda. Weeratunge added that the Commission had been mandated to investigate all aspects of the site of Matale’s mass graves and conclude its investigations comprehensively.
