Thripitaka Sinhala translations presented to President

The Sinhala translations of three volumes of the Thripitaka were handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena on 22 July at the Presidential Secretariat.

The books, in simple Sinhala, have been compiled by the Thripitaka Book Editorial Board.

These books have been translated into Sinhala to create awareness amongst the people about the Dhamma in a simple manner. 

Chairman of the Thripitaka Book Editorial Board and Mahanayake of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya, the Most Ven. Davuldena Gnanissara Thero, handed over the Thripitaka volumes to the President.

Several members of the clergy and laity were present at the occasion.
