Following protests against the f estival, the Terrorist Investigation Division entered the premises and arrested at least one person on suspicion of having links with the LTTE.
The TID officials were questioning participants at the festival and demanding that they be handed over to the division for interrogation, UNP lawyers at the scene said.
There were no assurances being provided that the persons would be released. Many participants are family members of the disappeared from Kurunegala, Colombo and other areas.
