The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has appointed a special committee to formulate a report to be handed over with the party’s proposals to the Presidential Task Force on Reconciliation. The committee is expected to discuss the matter in the next few days and is to submit the report within 10 days. The decision to form a committee to prepare a report was reached at a meeting held at TNA leader MP R. Sampanthan’s residence in Trincomalee yesterday. The Presidential Task Force on Reconciliation (PTFR), headed by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, is expected to identify the urgent reconciliation needs of the communities that require immediate solutions and will consider proposals from the public on these issues.
