High ranked officials from the Red Cross & Red Crescent movement met minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa at the Ministry office on 10 October.
IFRC Asia Pacific Zone Director Jagan Chapagain, Head of IFRC Delegation in Sri Lanka Igor Dmitryuk and Sri Lanka Red Cross Society Director General Tissa Abeywickrama met with Minister Rajapaksa and other officials to discuss about the upcoming IFRC General Assembly and the on-going Red Cross assistance for the well-being of returning IDPs in Northern Province and also the challenges ahead.
More deliberations were made to uplift the lives of returning IDPs in the north and it is expected this will further result in more collaborative efforts to address the vulnerability issues in Sri Lanka.
