Trade unions say the Government is using the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) sessions in Geneva to ignore the problems faced by the people, especially in relation to the rising cost of living.

Joint Trade Union Alliance (JTUA) Head Anton Marcus has said the working masses were engaged in a battle for survival in the face of a high cost of living.

He has noted that the people were not concerned about the UNHRC sessions.

According to Marcus, the Government needs to address the issues faced by the people and be realistic.

Marcus’ comments come at a time when workers in several sectors, especially, the health sector are engaged in trade union action demanding the payment of allowances due to the high prices in the market.
