The Transport Ministry of Sri Lanka pays over Rs. 10 million monthly for busses taken on lease by the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB).
Deputy Transport Minister Rohana Dissanayake has informed parliament that the monies are being paid for 100 busses that have been taken on lease by the SLTB.
Dissanayake has stated that the busses had been imported in four stages and each bus had cost Rs. 3.7 million.
Responding to a verbal question in parliament, the Deputy Minister has presented a document stating that a sum of about Rs. 12 million had to be paid as monthly instalment for the buses.
