Turkish envoy calls on Hakeem

Turkish Ambassador Iskender K. Okyay met Justice Minister and SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem yesterday (17) at the Ministry and discussed matters pertaining to both countries.

At this meeting, Turkey’s envoy expressed his country’s willingness to construct a 1,000 houses in and around Kalmunai for those who lost their houses due to the tsunami and other disasters and to the victims and widows due to ethnic violence. Turkey’s Economic and Business promoter Aydin, Eastern Provincial Minister Hafiz Nazeer Ahamed, Mayor of the Kalmunai Municipal Council Siraz Meerasahib, Additional Secretary Kuma Ekarathne and Coordinating Secretary A.R. Mansoor were also present at this meeting.
