Two arrested over attack on lawyer

Two suspects have been arrested over the alleged attack on the lawyer who was representing suspects in the case regarding the murder of two Buddhist monks of the Kotte Raja Maha Viharaya.

The suspects were arrested by the Mirihana Police yesterday.

The two suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate Court today.

The lawyers at the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court on March 28 protested by not attending court proceedings in demand of the arrest of two suspects who allegedly attacked a lawyer near the Gangodawila Magistrate Court.

The lawyers later resumed their work after the police had given them assurances that the two suspects would be arrested
