UK journalism training chief meets Media Minister

National Council for the Training of Journalists, UK (NTCJ) Chief Executive Officer Joanne Butcher called on Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella in his office yesterday.



The NTCJ delivers the premier training scheme for journalists in the UK.  Established in 1951, it is dedicated to providing a world-class education and training system that develops current and future journalists for the demands of a fast-changing multimedia industry.

Joanne Butcher, the Chief Executive officer of the NTCJ is visiting Sri Lanka to assist the working party set up by the Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) which is developing a new professional qualification for journalists in Sri Lanka.

As part of her visit she exchanged views on media training and present media landscape in the UK with the Minister of Media and Information.
