Thousands of unemployed graduates affiliated with the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) took to the streets yesterday and staged a protest demanding jobs.

The protest was organised by the Combined Association of Unemployment Graduates to urge the government to provide jobs to unemployed graduates. The Police fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse protesters at the Ceramic Junction in Colombo when they attempted to march towards the Presidential Secretariat. The protesters then gathered near the Fort Railway Station and staged a fast.
