The Leader of the United National Party Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that a political party cannot become victorious only through media campaigns and it is important to have a well established organisational capacity to become victorious.

Wickremasinghe made these comments at a party meeting held at the party Headquarters on Tuesday.

Speaking further, Wickremasinghe said that some people mistakenly think that media campaigns could make them victorious and hold such meetings they deliver lectures about themselves which is least important to people.

He also said that distributing spectacles, and other handouts cannot make one victorious.

Wickremasinghe stated that to speak about politics, it is necessary to get involved in politics and that everyone should ask themselves what they can do for the party and that a party does not need “leaches that suck the blood” of a party.
