The main opposition United National Party (UNP) is to appoint key office bearers on 10 January.
The new deputy leader, assistant leader, chairman and national organizer are some of the positions that are to be filled following the party convention last month.
The appointments are to be made at the first Working Committee meeting of the party scheduled for the 10th.
The UNP leadership is to decide on the names for the positions in consultation with the Working Committee and any objections should be made within 24 hours by one third of the Committee.
A vote would be taken for a post in the event an objection is accepted and two names are proposed to the post.
UNP sources told ColomboPage that the party leadership was likely to appoint two deputy leaders.
