UNP to launch campaign against rise in cost of living

Main Opposition and United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe says his party will launch a strong campaign against the rising cost of living that has burdened the people.

During a meeting with traders from the Delkanda weekly fair on Thursday, Wickremasinghe has said the UNP would take to the streets if the Government fails to improve the country’s economic conditions by this November.

He has assured that opposition political parties would protest to win proper relief for the people.

The traders from the fair have said the people were continuously being burdened without relief while the issue was being spoken of by the opposition political parties only inside parliament.
