UPFA to decide on Chief Ministerial appointments today

The governing United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) is to decide today on the chief ministerial appointments to the Sabaragamuwa, North Central and Eastern Provinces.

UPFA General Secretary, Minister Susil Premajayantha told ColomboPage that the Alliance would decide on Thursday on the appointment of chief ministers to the three provinces.

“We will decide on Thursday,” he said.

Speaking on reaching an agreement with the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), Premajayantha said the governing party was hopeful of receiving a response from the SLMC today.

“The party has had a lengthy discussion yesterday and we believe that they would inform us today of their decision,” he said.
