Vesak Special Train Services

The Sri Lanka Railways will operate special train services from today until the 20th of this month to cater to the public during the 2600th Sri Sambuddhathva Jayanthi and Vesak season. The dates, departure and arrival times at the stations are as follows:

16 May –

Leaving Matara at 2.25 pm., arrival at Anuradhapura 12 midnight.

Leaving Colombo Fort at 1.15 pm., arrival at Anuradhapura 6.55 p.m.

Leaving Colombo Fort at 6 p.m., arrival at Anuradhapura 11.30 p.m.

17 May –

Leaving Anuradhapura at 8.30 p.m., arrival at Colombo Fort 1.20 a.m. (following day).

Leaving Mahawa at 3 a.m., arrival at Anuradhapura at 4.36 a.m.

Leaving Anuradhapura at 3 p.m., arrival at Colombo Fort 4.10 a.m. (following day),

LeavingVavuniya at 4.30 p.m., arrival at A’pura 5.45 p.m.

18 May  –

Leaving Anuradhapura at 8.20 a.m., arrival at Colombo Fort 1.10 p.m.

Leaving Anuradhapura at 1.15 p.m., arrival at Colombo Fort 6.25 p.m.

In addition to the above, additional compartments will be added to the Colombo Fort-Trincomalee and Trincomalee-Colombo Fort Night Mail trains; Matara-Medawachchiya and Medawachchiya-Matara trains and Colombo Fort-Thandikulam trains.

All express, intercity and night mail trains on May 17 and 18 will stop over at Kelaniya Railway Station (www.news.lk)
