Vijitha Yapa’s mother passes away

Katherine Yapa, mother of Vijitha Yapa, former Editor of the Sunday Times, passed away on Friday. The funeral will be held at her residence at Yapland, Waralla, on Sunday, 13 November 2011 at 5 p.m.

She was 96 years old at the time of her death. She was the wife of the late M.D. Yapa, the prominent social worker and tea planter in Morawaka Korale.
