Ambassador Sarath Wijesinghe requested ‘Was Aradhana’ in Israel from the Maha Sanga headed by Karavilakotuwa Dhammathilaka Thero on behalf of the Embassy of Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan community.

This is a historic event in Israel where ‘Was Aradhana’ was inaugurated for the first time in the history of Israel.
There are two temples in Israel, Tel Aviv and Galilee. ‘Was Aradhana’ was performed at the Tel Aviv temple with the assistance of the Embassy and community, while there will be a separate ‘Was Aradhana’ function at Galilee Temple.
The Sri Lankan Embassy has organised bana ceremonies on Poya day at the Embassy premises for the last one year and this will be continued in future.
The main function of ending ‘Was’ will be held on 8 October in Tel Aviv.
