Young Learners English Program inaugurated in Colombo District

By Ruzaik Farook The inauguration ceremony was held for the Young Learners English Program for 1500 Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and Christian Daham Pasal (Sunday School) students for a six month course which covers the four language skills speaking, writing, reading and listening in the Colombo District under the concept of Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion Faizer Musthapha and organised by the Faizer Musthapha Foundation with the assistance of Lanka IOC PLC. The students were selected from grade 6 to 11 and will be provided with the necessary course material. The media briefing was held at the Investment and Promotion Board Room WTC Friday 6 December. The inauguration of this program was held yesterday (9) at the Musaeus College Auditorium under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.     He said all the religious leaders and parents were happy to conduct this program and hope FOR its continuation. The program has already been successfully completed in the Trincomalee and Jaffna Districts. A CSR project of Lanka IOC, the program has already provided a nurturing environment with free health camps, a donation of an ambulance, wheel chairs, free spectacles, donation of essential medicines to poor patients and donation of blood etc. The program also provides education assistance to uplift underprivileged children focusing on long term development of the country. Lanka IOC Managing Director Subodh Dakwale, Professor Ranjith Bandara and Tilak Silva of Cosmopolitan Learning Academy also spoke at the media conference.
