P.A.C.E. Initiative

For over 40 years, Brandix has been providing inspired solutions to renowned brands across the world. Our vertically integrated supply chain, expanding global network of manufacturing and operating locations, an inspired employee base, and technology-driven infrastructure have helped us deliver millions of garments to our customers over the years.

As an organisation that is on a mission to be the inspired solution for branded clothing, we believe that our inspiration lies within our people, and that our inspired solutions are delivered by inspired people who live the Brandix values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence day in and day out.

With a larger proportion of female representation across the Brandix Group, we ensure that our employees are provided a platform to actively engage in company initiatives that promote personal development, while fostering a diverse and well-balanced work environment that supports all employees’ career aspirations, steering every individual to fulfil their ultimate potential. In essence, we aspire for our employees to become the best version of themselves while they are a part of our ever-expanding family. This is how our employees become inspired people that add value to their own lives, the lives of their families, and the lives of their communities.

Best practices

Brandix is an equal opportunity employer and offers equal salary and remuneration to both men and women. Further, the principles of equality and diversity are applied at every stage of the employment process, including recruitment, selection, evaluation, promotion, training and development of all employees. As a result, the company has succeeded in maintaining a strong gender balance across its operations in Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh.

Learning and development

Brandix prides itself as a place of continuous learning. As such, the Group is committed to ensuring that all employees have access to learning and development tools that would enable their growth as an employee.

The Non-Executive female employees of Brandix have access to P.A.C.E., a Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement program initiated by Gap Inc., and activated by Brandix in 2015. It involves 65-80 hours of module-based instruction on building women’s lives and enhancing professional skills. These include communication, problem solving and decision making, time and stress management, water, sanitation and hygiene, financial literacy, legal literacy and social entitlement, general and reproductive health, and execution excellence.

Executives at Brandix can also benefit from leadership programs through the Centre for Creative Learning (CCL) – one of the world’s most respected corporate LandD platforms whose clients include Fortune 500 companies.

The company’s efforts towards promoting a LandD culture has helped pave many career paths, as evidenced through success stories of employees who joined Brandix at Staff level and have progressed on to becoming part of the Executive cadre.

Promoting mental health and wellbeing

The mental health and wellbeing of its employees is considered a key priority at Brandix. As such, the company has taken measures to educate its female workforce on domestic violence and has established an active counselling team at each of its locations, including India, to offer counselling services to the employees.

Supporting the diverse roles of women

Brandix endeavours to support women in their diverse roles, from daughters to wives and mothers that play an integral role in their families. As such, the company has rolled out many initiatives that inspires its female employees to succeed at home as well as on the job.

One such initiative is Brandix ‘Ran Daru Thilina’ where the company provides school bags and stationery items to children of Brandix employees from nursery age to Grade 5 for the new school year. Since its inception in 2016, the program has enriched the lives of over 20,000 children. Additionally, Brandix has a scholarship scheme titled ‘Ran Daru Scholarships’, under which financial assistance is extended to Grade 5, O/L and University attending children of its employees.

Further, the company has enabled crèche facilities at its locations for employees with young children, as well as hostels offering accommodation to female employees. From quality meals to providing safe transport to and from work, and overall safety and security at the workplace, Brandix ensures that its employees have peace of mind and a conducive environment to effectively engage in their work.

Caring for our own

Following a comprehensive survey of its employees where it was highlighted that lack of access to clean water was the most pressing concern for its female employees, Brandix developed the ‘Care for Our Own’ initiative in 2006. This initiative enables Brandix to respond to the desperate need for clean water supply systems across communities, as well as contribute to the national goal of providing safe drinking water and sanitation. Since then, Brandix has been focusing its CSR initiatives on water and women’s work as the core offering towards the communities of Sri Lanka.
