Elections around the corner: Saintly attitude and bluff talk

It is once again a situation where the voters are being taken for a ride by the political leaders and Members of Parliament.

Although very few good things have happened since the last election, we can well see that no action has been taken to eliminate or reduce corruption, misuse of power, and inefficiencies among those who enjoy enormous benefits out of public funds.

I recall advising the party leaders prior to the last election, personally as well as through the newspapers, to make a public commitment to-introduce corporate style management of their ministries after they form the Government.

“Accountability” and “timely” delivery to be made obligatory by every minister in the same manner as listed companies are bound by SEC/CSE rules.

I am reluctantly compelled to come to a conclusion that the leaders whom I advised at that time are also part of the click with the saintly attitude and did bluff talk.

It is high time that professionals /academics among the younger generation get together and resist these same leaders in the major parties from taking the voters for a ride at the next elections.
