Rebranding is a strategic marketing initiative in which a business changes its visual components, such as logos and colour schemes, to project a better or new image in the eyes of customers. This may entail a complete redesign, a partial alteration, or even a modernisation of preexisting components. The ultimate objective is to raise brand awareness, loyalty, and maybe sales by bringing the brand into line with its present objectives, target market, and target audience.
Upon the arrival of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, most Sri Lankans celebrate the new year for the second time in a row. Two new years are celebrated by us Sri Lankans. We get the chance to start the new year alongside everyone else on 1 January. However, as members of the business community, we typically close out the fiscal year on 31 March. Most Sri Lankans celebrate the new year for the second time of the year with the start of the Sinhala and Tamil New Years.
On the one hand, the new fiscal year starts with a blessed month like April, where the first two weeks of the month are primarily spent with the Awurudu mood on, following the previous fiscal year ended with a heavy month like March. However, as a nation, we are lucky to have the time to analyse the first three months of the calendar year and, on the one hand, to think back on the previous fiscal year. This would enable us to finish one quarter and then restart the year in April with extra energy due to the break we get in April.
The same is true for students who have already finished a semester or term; they should reflect on the three months that have passed and begin to think differently in preparation for the much-anticipated April break and holidays. It’s an opportunity to rebrand the year. Let’s rebrand 2025. In this Sinhala and Tamil New Year by rethink of our strategies, recap on what went right and what went wrong so far in the year 2025, revise your strategies if they are not going so well, and let’s rebrand to end 2025 as the best year.
