Double standards in dealing with terrorists

The US authorities do not have discussions with Osama Bin Laden’s successors. In fact, the US has made it very clear that they would kill any associate of Bin Laden, at sight. That is the way US treats ex-terrorists.

However, when it comes to Sri Lanka, Robert O. Blake is asking the Government to have talks with New York-based Rudrakumaran, who was one of the closest associates of the world’s most ruthless terrorist, Prabhakaran.

Rudrakumaran may be wearing a new diaspora hat today, but he is undoubtedly a member of the LTTE, and Prabhakaran’s successor.

Blake forgets that there are Tamil leaders in Sri Lanka who have been elected by the people. Let the elected Tamil leaders talk to the Government and sort out whatever issues they may have.

USA, keep out! Don’t encourage terrorists! You have done enough damage already!
