Some questions for US Ambassador Patricia Butenis

I observed a recent letter written by Patricia Butenis, the US Ambassador in Colombo, where she calls herself a friend of the people and Government of Sri Lanka, and says the US is keen to achieve freedom in Sri Lanka, and around the world. I presume then, that the freedom that she talks about includes the freedom in the USA as well and therefore, I wish to pose a few questions to her.

Does the arrest and detention of people suspected of being terrorists held in concentration camps in Guantanamo bay and other places under US control, without trials and without access to lawyers, constitute freedom? Does the arrest of Julian Assange who disclosed classified documents of the US State Department, being held on framed up sex charges, constitute freedom?

Does the arrest and holding naked of Bradley Manning for an alleged involvement with WikiLeaks, constitute freedom? Does the brutal slaughter of the nearly one million people and destruction of property by the US forces in the invasion in Iraq, on the false pretext of searching for weapons of mass destruction, constitute freedom?

It is clear that you and your country have one yardstick for developing countries and another for yourself. Your hypocrisy is despicable, and it is worse when you attempt to preach to others, as if you are saints. Patricia, you sound like Dracula with blood on its mouth and hands, trying to preach the Gospel. Please realise that you cannot carry on this facade forever and that people all over the world now see through your double standards.
