Theft of valuable car mirrors in Rajagiriya

This is to bring to your notice that thieves had entered a string of houses at Rajagiriya on Obeysekera Crescent and stolen the car side mirrors in about 10 vehicles last Sunday night (1 July 2012).

The value of the stolen mirrors, viper blades and headlights is worth around Rs. 250,000. About three months ago thieves had entered a house at Rajagiriya on the same lane, cut opened the door locks and removed cash and jewellery worth over Rs. 300,000.

Last Sunday’s robbery was reported to the Welikada Police. The previous theft was also reported to the Police and sadly nothing has happened and the Welikada Police have not followed up these matters.

Will the Inspector General be so kind as to inquire into this lackadaisical attitude by the Welikada Police?
