Throwing their underwear’s at a celebrity!

I’m not trying to say what is bad and what is good for our culture here but the moral values which everybody can agree on.

I have seen many people justifying girls kissing celebrities on stage, throwing underwear, smoking, drinking at public places etc.  I really want to clarify this. Do they really mean “some girl” doing these things is acceptable in this so-called developed new society or do they mind their daughters, sisters, girlfriends, wives and mothers doing these things in public?

If they think that these things should be allowed in this so-called posh society, they have to change the slogan as “allow our daughters, sisters, wives and mothers to drink, smoke, kiss strangers, throw underwear in public”. If that is so, I can understand there is a real need for these kinds of things in our society to be on par with other developed countries, if at all this is the only criteria for that.

Most of the guys would like to see other girls going out with any guy they meet but not their daughters, sisters, wives and mothers doing that. Most of the girls would like to see other guys being more friendly and helpful to other girls but not their boyfriends, brothers, husbands or fathers. That is called selfishness. So this is my point, if you don’t like your family members doing certain things, please don’t try to promote those things to others.

Some people say stopping these types of things like throwing underwear and kissing celebrities in public are like implementing Sharia law here in Sri Lanka. But those are two extremes they are talking about and not a valid argument.

Not like in other so-called developed countries, in Sri Lanka, our guys and gals are still lucky enough to find a virgin, good partner or person who values a good family life. Therefore, whatever we promote should not spoil our moral values in our society. But you can always promote anything within your family rather than society in general and I do not have any objection to that.
