3M Sri Lanka, the local subsidiary of the global innovation giant 3M Company, was the main sponsor of Construction Expo 2014. The exhibition, which took place recently at the BMICH, was held in order to provide a common platform for all industries that link to construction and give participants the opportunity to showcase their products and services.
“3M established its presence in Sri Lanka by introducing innovative solutions to architects, building owners, contractors and engineers. By becoming the main sponsor of the Construction Expo this year we simply continued our support of the growth of the construction industry in Sri Lanka. We do this here by fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and learning,” said 3M Sri Lanka Country Head Suren Rajanathan.
Sri Lanka is currently witnessing an era of rapid growth in which investment in infrastructure has increased exponentially in the past few years and because of this the need for quality construction service providers for both macro and micro tasks has grown as well.
Construction Expo 2014 provided the opportunity for construction service providers to meet this need by allowing domestic and international products and technology suppliers to display the latest technological advancements in equipments, building materials, services and techniques in related fields.
Further, it provided the opportunity for participants to interact with all stakeholders and key service providers within the building and construction industry.
In addition to being main sponsors 3M showcased their main solutions for the construction industry under their Abrasives, Sun Control Window Films, Personal Safety and Volition platforms. These innovative solutions are based on the 3M’s 46 technological platforms and are only a fraction of what the company is able to offer.
“With our extensive knowledge, experience and investment in research and development 3M is uniquely positioned to address all the needs of the Sri Lankan construction industry,” said Rajanathan.
The Construction Expo 2014 was organised by the Ceylon Institute of Builders (CIOB) together with the Presidential award winning company Lanka Exhibition & Conference Services Ltd (LECS).
