The Management Club (TMC) Negombo organised a personal development forum which was followed by a panel discussion on 7 June at the Camelot Beach Hotel in Negombo.
The topic of the evening was “Leadership Challenges in a Volatile Environment”. The event featured a keynote address by CBL Foods International Ltd. Chief Operating Officer Kamal Geeganage whose insights on navigating leadership challenges in today’s dynamic business environment resonated with the audience.
The forum also included a stimulating panel discussion moderated by ATG Ceylon Ltd. Group Finance Director Sudath Fernando. The esteemed panel, comprised of TMC Negombo Chairman Elect and Ansell Lanka Senior Director/Country Head Ramesh Nanayakkara, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka Zonal Director Lawrance Madapatha, and Global Rubber Industries Chief Operating Officer Thanuja Samaranayake, offered a diverse perspective on leading through volatility.
The forum provided a valuable platform for local business leaders to learn, share experiences, and develop strategies for uncertain and volatile environments.
Further, Nanayakkara described present threats and obstacles that challenge today’s leaders to look outside themselves and to their followers to solve complex problems and manage risk. By developing self-awareness through reflection and critical feedback, effective leaders can develop their skills to navigate their organisations around ambiguity and constant change. They become agile and fluidly adapt to their leadership style. “We are confident that the insights gained will empower attendees to excel in their leadership roles.”
Recognising the critical role of continuous learning in today’s dynamic business landscape, TMC Negombo designed this forum to foster growth and equip attendees with the necessary skills to navigate the ever-changing corporate environment.
This initiative underscores TMC Negombo’s commitment to empowering individuals and the wider Sri Lankan business community.
TMC Sri Lanka President Emeritus Fayaz Saleem also addressed the audience and provided a brief introduction about TMC. He further stated: “This was not to be just any social club, but a platform where mid-level managers and senior executives such as GMs, CEOs, and MDs could meet, interact, and continuously develop their personalities, work ethics, and leadership skills.”
TMC Negombo provides its members with a supportive and positive environment to develop their public speaking and leadership skills. Through a proven curriculum and engaging activities, TMC Negombo empowers individuals to become more confident and effective communicators.
