This month Casa Colombo serves up an array of shellfish for the more complex seafood lovers in Colombo.
Shellfish are divided into different groups in the culinary and scientific world based on their appearance and habitats. The common shellfish that are found in most restaurants in Sri Lanka are crustaceans such as crabs, prawns, lobsters, etc. and cephalopods such as squid, octopus and cuttlefish.
This month Casa Colombo will be stirring things up by concentrating more on the delicious little sea creatures known as bivalve molluscs such as oysters, clams and mussels.
Starting from 25 July and lasting till 3 August the luscious bivalves will be served as a complete dish or tangled in a dish of pasta and a sauce of your choice for just Rs. 950 plus taxes. You have a selection of dishes which you can choose from; oysters served with red chili and shallots in red vinegar, stuffed and baked mangrove clams served with mango salsa and spring salad or you can choose either short neck clams, blood clams or mussels served with your choice of pasta (fettuccine/spaghetti) and sauce (tomato concasse and basil with black olives, white wine cream sauce, pesto cream sauce, chili basil olives and olive oil).
If you’re a ‘shellfish’ person, stop shucking around and call 0114520130 for inquiries and reservations.
