Advantis Engineering opens Lanka’s first container conversion plant

Invests Rs. 400 m on fully-fledged sheltered convertainer manufacturing facility in Colombo

Expanding new opportunities to offer distinctive space solutions, Advantis Engineering declared open Sri Lanka’s first fully fledged sheltered manufacturing plant for container conversions on 10 March. 

Advantis Engineering, formerly known as Logiventures, has invested Rs. 400 million for this production facility located close to city limits in Peliyagoda, which is dedicated to manufacturing convertainers – the container conversion solutions offered by the company. 09-02

The state-of-the-art manufacturing plant coupled with Advantis Engineering’s new office building spans over a spacious 12,500sqft area. Built according to contemporary architectural concepts, the production facility and the office building comprises of a production floor, mezzanine floor-based office and a customer lounge. Customers can now experience the complete manufacturing process of a convertainer while seated at the customer lounge. 

Speaking about the new facility, Hayleys Advantis Ltd. Managing Director Ruwan Waidyaratne said, “Advantis Engineering celebrates a significant milestone today by unveiling the country’s first fully-fledged sheltered manufacturing plant for container conversions or convertainers. Over the last few years, Advantis Engineering has championed the delivery of high quality space solutions for varied business segments in Sri Lanka through convertainers. This new facility is a stepping stone for the company to pursue their endeavours locally and across the globe by providing cost-effective and environmentally-friendly space solutions using convertainers.” The new facility attracts customers to experience the real feeling of 09-01living inside a convertainer by allowing them to enter the specially-designed model convertainer setup at the premises. This allows customers to get a true understanding of how an individual could transform a convertainer to represent his or her new business identity. Apart from that, customers can share ideas on their dream space solutions with the convertainers team. 

With the new facility, the convertainers production unit gets the unique advantage to work by resisting bad weather conditions and in return, customers will be directly benefited as efficiency will be further enhanced, which results in much quicker lead times and quality improvements. The new manufacturing plant incorporates a number of eco-friendly building elements and green initiatives such as insulated workspace, LED lighting, day-lighting systems which efficiently capture sun rays, rain water harvesting, sound proof interior setup and modern landscaping techniques. The facility also acts as an integrated multi-logistics centre which will be able to provide cold storage solutions, security seals, identification wristbands and light engineering solutions.
