Allianz Lanka held its annual sales convention, ‘Beyond Belief 2010’ at the Galadari Hotel recently.
This is the company’s annual awards for excellence held for the second consecutive year, under the distinguished patronage of Chief Guest, Heinz Dollberg, Allianz Executive Vice President Asia Pacific and Guest of Honour, Allianz Lanka’s Chief Executive Officer Surekha Alles.
The company’s senior management, Life and General sales staff, the spouses of winners and staff comprised the attendees at the glittering event.
The awards are Allianz Lanka’s springboard for excellence and recognise, reward and honour high flyers in insurance sales. General insurance salesmanship was also rewarded for the first time this year. Rewarding individual successes, outstanding team achievements and effective partnerships, the awards confirm the strong performance culture that Allianz fosters in all its companies worldwide.
The awards evening is the most important and spectacular event on the Allianz Lanka’s calendar of events, and is eagerly awaited by staff from all over the country. Over 50 winners demonstrating the highest standards of best practice and innovative initiatives during 2010, vied for the much coveted Salesperson of the Year Award.
Heinz Dollberg expressed the Group’s deep appreciation of the sales force for their noteworthy accomplishments, and stated that he had made a special effort to be with them, to share in the triumphs of the evening. He spoke of Allianz Lanka’s many achievements. The company is Sri Lanka’s fastest growing insurer and has achieved many ‘firsts’ and established industry benchmarks since inception just six years ago.
Local expertise and global strength have been Allianz Lanka’s powerful bluprint for success. Surekha Alles, in her address, while commending the sales team for its commitment and hard work towards the company’s success that enables it to emulate its august parent, declared, “Building the world’s strongest financial service is not just only about profitability and solvency. It’s also about building partnerships with our business associates.”
The highlight of the evening was the announcing of the winner of the much coveted life Salesperson of the Year award. Thayakaran Sadanandan from the Vavuniya region, accepted the award amidst much fanfare. He was joined on stage by Dollberg and Alles, who presented him with his award, which comprised the trophy, cash prizes and an air ticket to Disneyland.
Other main awards were the Best Regional Manager, won by Lasantha Fernando Negombo Region, the Best Agency Office, awarded to. Prasanna Rajapaksha from the Wattala agency office, the Best Field Manager, carried off by Kaliappan Ingaran from the Vavuniya region, Best Non Life Salesperson, awarded to Niroshan Mudalige, Winners were rewarded with trophies, certificates of excellence, air tickets to exotic destinations and cash awards.
Several magnificent dance and music items added to the colour and vibrancy to the glittering event.
