AOD presents next generation designers for industry at REVEAL 2013

Open invitation for industry professionals to engage with designers, get inspired and employ the ‘design value addition’ for their businesses

AOD International Design Campus is showcasing its graduating class of 2013 with an internationally curated exhibition, REVEAL 2013. With

this, AOD International Design Campus and its partner university Northumbria UK, extend an open invitation to the design led industries – fashion, apparel, advertising, graphic design, animation, film, publishing and print along with interior design, furniture, architecture and photography – to come witness Sri Lanka’s best, young design talent at the AOD REVEAL international design exhibition. REVEAL 2013, presented by AOD international design campus in partnership with one of Europe’s top five design academia, Northumbria University UK, is set to raise the bar for young design. AOD, renowned as the design campus for delivering world-class design education with complete degrees from one of Europe’s finest design campuses, Northumbria University, will host four simultaneous showcases of the latest fashion, interior design and graphic design projects by the AOD design graduates who’ve received international design knowledge through the Northumbria’s global curriculum. These design graduates are trained according to the current and future needs of international and Sri Lankan creative industries. The Northumbria Fashion degree at AOD produces a cohort of designers for the multi-billion dollar apparel industry, the lingerie manufacturing and design, for which Sri Lanka is gaining worldwide recognition, as well as the designer fashion label boutiques that are springing up in Colombo and suburbs. At REVEAL this year, over 25 young fashion designers who are equipped with the globally relevant knowledge to design, curate, merchandise and promote fashion will graduate into the apparel industry. A majority of the Northumbria graphic design degree graduates at AOD are trained to provide design oriented services for local and international advertising, publishing, media, animation and film industries. REVEAL also showcases the 2013 graduating class of Northumbria Interior designers at AOD whose three-year training has been focusing on the business of interior architecture, furniture design, retail design, corporate design and hospitality design along with many supporting sectors. To underline the value of these designers to the creative led businesses, AOD, together with Northumbria University is inviting a prestigious audience of advertising gurus, graphic designers, fashion designers, apparel industry leaders, architects, photographers, furniture retailers and interior designers for a special private viewing of this exhibition today (Friday 4 October). AOD REVEAL in return, is highly beneficial to the local design industries as it is a hotspot to locate talented designers who would add value to their businesses. REVEAL 2013 will be curated by AOD’s international faculty and promises to be an exquisite experience for the creative industry leaders, design professionals, enthusiasts and businesses alike.
