BreadTalk Sri Lanka celebrates its first anniversary on 5 April, closing the year with a total five branches spanning key areas across the city of Colombo.
“This is a significant milestone for us and we vow to continue to expand our operations and product range in order to give our customers the best in terms of taste, flavour, and texture,” said Yatila Wijemanne, Managing Director at FoodBuzz – the franchise holder of BreadTalk in Sri Lanka.
Its newest addition to its branch network came on Monday, 1 April, with the opening of an outlet in Thimbirigasyaya; last month it opened another outlet along Galle Road, Bambalapitiya. It also operates an outlet at the World Trade Center in addition to its key outlet at Park Street and flagship outlet at Union Place, Colombo 2.
Raquel Yaseen Co-founder/Director of FoodBuzz added that to commemorate its first anniversary, on 5 April, BreadTalk will offer all food items across all of its branches at half-price.
“We want to give back to our loyal customers. Over the next year, we plan to introduce more signature products to our range of bakery items and cakes as well as the local products range,” she added.
BreadTalk is managed locally by FoodBuzz Ltd., which was established in 2011 to spearhead the Singaporean boutique bakery chain’s franchise in Sri Lanka. Its total investment is Rs. 400 million.
BreadTalk specialises in the finest breads, gourmet desserts, and bakery items. Each item is unique in its own right and most are filled with special ingredients sourced from around the world, like exotic nuts, the freshest fruit and the finest cheeses, just to name a few.
In recent months, BreadTalk Sri Lanka has introduced a range of localised bakery items such as a spicy fish bun, chicken roll, and fish patty, among others.
Globally, BreadTalk has over 600 boutique bakeries and 40 food atriums and restaurants across 16 countries. All of its kitchens worldwide have a standard unique design complete with an oak finish and geometrical patterned mosaic flooring.
