Brother introduces new sewing machine range to SL

World-renowned brand of sewing machines Brother on Friday launched a range of advanced modern sewing machines in Sri Lanka, hoping to reinforce business in the country, which the company considers a key market in the region.

The new line-up includes sewing machines for the homes and semi professional segment, deemed the ‘new generation household sewing machines’ by Brother officials.

The machines are high tech and feature digitised operations, computerised functioning, easy usage and an unlimited array of embroidery and designs. 

Brother International Singapore Managing Director Takeo Shimazu present at the launch stated that the company was presently on a drive to expand its market presence.

“With Sri Lanka being identified as a key market, the introduction of new products will, we hope, trigger the growth of Brother products in the market,” Shimazu said. “Sri Lanka is expected to grow much faster than Japan and we are keen on strengthening our presence here.”  With the target customers for the products being entrepreneurs, Brother hopes to create a hobby market in the country as well. Brother’s local counterpart, Office Network Pvt. Ltd. Assistant General Manager Annuruddha Ameresekere said: “We are introducing the most advanced sewing machine technology available in the world. So far the local market is used to traditional sewing appliances. Now with the introduction of the next generation sewing machines, this will be the future.”

Office Network became the sole distributor for Brother Office Automation products in Sri Lanka in 2002. “We are in the expansion mode of adding new product lines represented by reputed brands to the existing line of product portfolio. The goal is to widen the product range to cater to the specific need of the customers in the industry.” Introducing a full range of sewing machines from lower end to high end the range include home sewing machines as well as embroidery machines that includes LS 2125, BM 2600, Computerised DS 140, INNOV-IS 30, NV 750 E and PR 650.

The advance features include automatic needle threading system which allows users to simply set the upper thread in the groove, press a button and start sewing. The range of embroidery machines allows high quality embroidery with design easy options. The top range machines also include a wide angle HD LCD display, which offers vivid, crystal clear and bright images.
