The Ministry of Health has made special health facilities for the Commonwealth Heads of States and other participants in the CHOGM related activities.
Accordingly a special team of 200 doctors including specialist doctors, nurses, and health service personnel has been formed and kept alert round the clock.
They have been stationed at the Katunayake International Airport, at BMICH, in Hambantota, Hikkaduwa, Waters Edge and other CHOGM locations.
A fleet of ambulances has also been placed at all these locations.
Several wards and beds in the ICU Units in the National Hospital and nearby hospitals to CHOGM locations have also been kept reserved. In addition to this the helipad at the National Hospital has been kept reserved.
