Colombo Courtyard participated to honour the World Earth Hour day, an event organised by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) which is being held worldwide annually encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour.
We here at Colombo Courtyard honouring the pledge, all electricity was shut off between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. with the ambiance of lamps and candlelight.
Adding to this, we are proud to announce that we are still Asia’s first CarbonNeutral city hotel in Sri Lanka. Being a CarbonNeutral hotel, Colombo Courtyard has striven to reduce the environmental impact of the corporate sector of Sri Lanka through a range of services that promote sustainable practices. The hotel’s entire annual carbon footprint has been offset using carbon credits internationally sourced and retired, thus making the entire operation of the hotel carbon neutral.
