Over the past 43 years, people living in rural areas have derived immense economic benefits through the tireless efforts of the Crysbro Group. While traditional chicken producers have focused on the short-term, Crysbro has worked towards the long-term benefit of society at large. The commitment of Crysbro towards self-sufficiency within this country has resulted in the upliftment of the local community.

In order to meet the high demand, Crybro has initiated highly productive cultivation methods and effective distribution to ensure the freshness of its chicken reaching the consumer. The Group has also initiated contract breeding programs in several areas which possess the ideal climatic conditions to raise healthy birds for processing. This program has benefitted thousands of underprivileged families.

By providing such families with much-needed technological inputs, chicks as breeding stock and high quality feed, Crysbro has enabled them to carry out their related day-to-day activities with ease. The North-Central and Uva Provinces has been an area of special focus.

Crysbro directly employs thousands of individuals from all communities, thereby indirectly offering economic and social benefits to many more thousands in several areas across Sri Lanka. By uplifting the agricultural sector, the Group has contributed significantly towards the renaissance of these areas and raising the standard of living for their inhabitants. Going beyond merely producing chicken of the finest quality, Crysbro has gone a step further by improving the road networks in areas surrounding its factories and farms, as well as offering health services and helping out with essential products and services, thereby offering further benefits to people in these areas. In addition, cultivators in adjoining areas are provided with many vital services.

The annual consumption of chicken, which currently stands at 8 kg per person, is likely to double in the near future, due to increasing prosperity. Besides meeting the dietary needs of the people, Crysbro is committed to ensuring that Sri Lanka produces all its needs in chicken, locally, thereby conserving valuable foreign exchange for the nation. If not for the foresight and patriotism of large organisations such as Crysbro, Sri Lanka will be compelled to expend valuable foreign exchange on the import of chicken, just as it currently does on produce such as onions and potatoes.

In fact, one begins to wonder as to how much foreign exchange has been retained within the country, due to the diligence of Crysbro during the past 43 years in Sri Lanka.
