Dr. Jayasundera should keep his dignity

I am shocked to see in your esteemed paper that Dr. P.B. Jayasundera is openly asking people to vote for the President. This is the very reason why people are shifting towards the common candidate to create an independent public service and bring good governance back to the country. When public servants jump the line, the credibility of the entire public service is lost. If Dr. Jayasundara wants to do politics he should ask the President to put him on the national list and then make those speeches in Parliament. This goes for the Governor of the Central Bank who has politicised the entire financial sector. This country needs the independent commissions more than ever. If we are to have disciplined public servants and protect the dignity of the public service it is a must that we introduce the public service commission and a code of conduct for the public service. I must say it is so tragic to see the deterioration of the public service. The time has come to change it forever. It is now or never. M.C.M. Maxwell
