‘Construct 2011,’ the construction industry’s largest and most prestigious trade fair in Sri Lanka organised by the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL), is to be held for the 11th consecutive year on 19, 20 and 21 August 2011 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial International Exhibition Centre.

The inauguration ceremony of ‘Construct 2010’ held last year on 13, 14 and 15 August 2010 was graced by the President, while several cabinet ministers, heads of departments and foreign delegates participated,

After the inauguration ceremony the President visited all the stalls and showed a keen interest in the construction related items that were on display. This time too NCASL is anticipating the participation of the President as the Chief Guest at the inauguration ceremony and a large number of distinguished guests including cabinet ministers, foreign delegates, embassy officials and so on at the exhibition.

The objective of the NCASL is to develop the domestic construction industry by introducing world class products services and state-of-the-art technology. Participants at this exhibition will be able to view all the aspects in construction and infrastructure development, up to the finish of the contract including even the smallest component to the giant machinery and equipment and gain sustainable knowledge and awareness.

This year the exhibition will feature around 300 local and foreign exhibitors including various goods and service providers in the construction sector as well as representatives from banks, insurance companies etc.

As in the past, the three armed forces will participate and display all war related special items to the public to view. The stall structure has been well designed so that the stalls are evenly positioned. Stalls are available around the open space at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial International Exhibition Centre as well.

The most popular and important construction and machinery show has been displayed well to attract the participants.

For the first time a Constructors Pavilion has been constructed at the exhibition centre, where the public would be educated on the construction of houses and buildings and could make contacts with the reputed companies for their construction work.

The main objective of NCASL Chairman Priyantha Perera and NCASL Director and Organising Committee Construct 2011 Chairman Priyal Wijegunawardena as well as the members of the association is to elevate the construction industry to new heights by disseminating the latest information on modern construction techniques and products.

Maga Engineering (Pvt) Ltd. is the Principal Sponsor of this colourful and useful event. United Tractors and Equipment, True Value Products and Hatton National Bank are other valued sponsors.

The NCASL Board of Directors and membership are confident that ‘Construct 2011’ will be a resounding success.
