Expelogix (Pvt) Ltd., a newly established company, is to take over operations as the exclusive agent in Sri Lanka for Expeditors International of Washington Inc. a Fortune 500 global logistics company headquartered in Seattle, Washington DC.
The appointment, effective 1 July, will result in the transfer of operations from Expeditors Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., to Expelogix from Monday 2 July, an announcement from the company said.
The new company will continue to operate from the current Expeditors Lanka premises at Level 15, East Tower, World Trade Centre, Colombo, ensuring a seamless integration of the two entities to enable customers to enjoy uninterrupted services, the announcement said.
“We are proud to represent a global specialist of the calibre of Expeditors Intern-ational,” said Expelogix CEO Ibrahim Saleem. “We look forward to servicing their existing client base while expanding the Expeditors business footprint in Sri Lanka.”
Offering a wide spectrum of services including air and ocean freight consolidation and forwarding, vendor consolidation, customs clearance, cargo insurance, distribution and other value added logistics services, Expeditors employs over 13,000 trained professionals in a worldwide network of over 250 locations across six continents.
Saleem said Expelogix will continue to forge ahead with the dynamic team currently at Expeditors Lanka and will strongly focus on superior customer service, exceptional quality levels and ensure expectations are exceeded at all times. The new company will offer the full range of supply chain management and freight forwarding services of Expeditors International, with cutting edge IT systems to deliver the superior service enjoyed by Expeditors customers globally, he added.
