First-ever CADD Centre National Awards Ceremony 2016 held in Sri Lanka

Untitled-1Master franchisee CADD Centre Lanka Ltd. held its first-ever CADD Centre National Awards Ceremony in Sri Lanka, on 26 March at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) with renowned Architect and Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka (CCI Sri Lanka) President Deshabandu Dr. Surath Wickramasinghe gracing the occasion as Chief Guest. 

The event was attended by EWIS Group Chairman/CEO Sanjeewa Wickrmanayake, CADD Centre Lanka Managing Director Ajith Amarasekera, CADD Centre India Head of International Business Shibu Peethambaran, Senior Manager (Operations) Rajendra Nalluri and other distinguished guests.   

CADD Centre Lanka Ltd. is a part of EWIS group having over 14 years of professional career development experience as an institute conducting internationally recognised courses of world renowned software giants which are also key affiliation partners i.e. Autodesk, Dassault Systems, Bentley, PTC, Cadence, Oracle etc. 

CADD Centre India was established in India in 1986, as a professional training body for CADD and Project Planning and Management (PPM) courses. Speaking at the CADD Centre Award ceremony, CADD Centre Lanka Ltd. Director Manuja Somarathne stated the following: “Awards are given to students of CADD Centre Lanka who have performed well in the industry both globally and locally. It is also an occasion to recognise our corporate and industry associations which have been working closely with CADD Centre for the past fourteen years to build the CADD Centre brand in Sri Lanka.”

Further speaking, he stated that, “This initiative will be continued every year by us as the master franchisee of CADD Centre in Sri Lanka, branding this as the national CADD award ceremony.”

2015 was a significant year for CADD Centre Lanka and its plan for expansion. It was elevated to master franchise status following 14 successful years of service to Sri Lanka in recognition of its continued expansion program both geographically and in course offerings in line with CADD Centre India programs. CADD Centre Lanka franchise centres are now fully equipped to provide following courses:  Diploma in CAD, Diploma in Draughting and AutoCAD MEP, Diploma in Architectural CADD, Diploma in Mechanical CADD, Diploma in Civil CADD, AutoCAD Electrical, Navisworks, ETABS, SAP 2000, QS and QTO, Diploma in Project Planning and Management, Professional in Project Planning and Management, Diploma in Interior Design, Diploma in Fashion Design, Foundation in 3D Modelling and Animation, Diploma in Colour Graphics and Multimedia, Diploma in Graphic Design and Project Management – PMI (USA).

The plan to establish alumni association of past students was also revealed at the event which envisages that most students completing the courses at the franchise network will be able to enter the local and foreign job markets as soon as the required level of expertise is gained by the student.   

At the award ceremony several awards and certificates were given in recognition of students who had completed the programme in 2015 and other stakeholders. Some of the award categories won at the award ceremony by stakeholders are – Most Valuable Student Award by renowned Sri Lankan Architect A. C. Liyanage, Best Student Award by Nishika De Silva, Longest Dedicated Service Award by Amila Amarathunga, Best Institutional Award by HNDE Mattakuliya, Best Exhibition Partner by INCO 2015 and Best Industry Representative Body by CCI Sri Lanka. Students of all CADD Centre Lanka branches in Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala and Jaffna along with distinguished invitees participated at the award ceremony.
