We cannot afford free education and there is no case for the public to subsidise free education at the university state in particular, since the gains to the individual exceed any gains to the economy.
The gains, except in the engineering and medical faculties, are low from an economic point of view. They constitute a waste of resources.
We are in a globalised world and we will be educating at the university stage not only for the country but for the world for the qualified graduates will not remain in the country.
