Industry gears up for ‘Construction Expo 2012’

‘Construction Expo 2012’ is set to be held on 29, 30 June and 1 July 2012 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre. Since the event’s inception it has grown by leaps and bounds showcasing the most innovative technology and services around the world under a common platform.

The event is set to be one of South Asia’s biggest and most comprehensive exhibitions catering to the construction industry. The event is set to be the pioneer show in the region with many visitors and participants from SAARC nations expected to be a part of it.

The organisers are of the opinion that ‘Construction Expo 2012’ will be a platform and a pivotal point for all stakeholders of the industry within the region.

Ceylon Institute of Builders (CIOB) President Dr. Rohan Karunarathne stated that this event would provide an ideal platform towards achieving the goal of ‘construction’ being the most sought after exhibition of the type in the whole of Asia.

“We plan on making this event the most looked forward to event for the construction industry within the whole region. Sri Lanka has enormous potential and now is the time to explore and expand. ‘Construction Expo 2012’ therefore will be of a world class standard, showcasing the best of the industry under one roof.”

CIOB is Sri Lanka’s foremost association spearheading a gathering of all stakeholders in the construction industry. Established in 1961 by a group of builders and engineers presently the association commands the membership of a wide array of persons from a multitude of industries relating to construction. The CIOB has joined hands with a presidential award winning company LECS, the island’s premier professional exhibition and conference service provider, in organising the event.

‘Construction Expo 2012’ will include a symposium which will feature all facets of the construction industry. The symposium will stage the most comprehensive and latest technologies related to the field. It will provide participants an opportunity to witness the most renowned and innovative technologies under one roof.

Organising Committee Chairman Mahanama Jayamanna is of the opinion that the event will be on par with the best exhibitions held around the globe. “We want to make this event the hub for all those interested in the industry.

The beautiful environment and friendly people create a prefect and conducive environment for business. We intend on showcasing the best platform for all our participants and an unparalleled experience to all those visitors to the exhibition.

LECS Director Imran Hasssan reiterated their commitment to excellence: “Our aim is to provide the best possible platform to share ideas technologies and new developments under one roof. At ‘Construction Expo 2012’ our main aim is to give all stakeholders the best possible mileage, visitors will see a plethora of innovations; they will also have the opportunity to witness all the aspects of the construction industry and the best brand names in the region under one roof.”

‘Construction Expo 2012’ will attract many key players in the construction industry who include but are not limited to architects, designers, manufacturers of equipment, providers of raw material, engineers, construction equipment manufacturers and service providers, property managers, planners, and quantity surveyors, etc.

The event is seen as the cornerstone for all local and international players in the industry to exhibit their capabilities and showcase modern trends and technologies and sharing of information.

As in the case of all trade fairs it will provide a platform to create sales leads, building of Brand awareness, creating of a network within players of the industry, and give a full understanding of the target market that the participants wish to educate and serve.
